REGGAE BAND TRIBAL SEEDS ANNOUNCES NATIONAL FALL 2011 TOUR
Award-winning reggae group Tribal Seeds announces their fall

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 16, 2011)-- San Diego based, award-winning reggae band Tribal Seeds announced today the dates for their upcoming fall 2011 tour. The shows will span over 25 dates in two months, kicking off in Tucson, Arizona at The Rock on October 12, 2011. Tribal Seeds have become known for their spiritually driven, refreshing rock vibe, that they have intertwined with the roots style of reggae music. Of the tour, the band shares, “We look forward to bringing a new show with songs from our latest EP ʻSoundwavesʼ and new twists to some of our older fan favorite songs. Fans might get sneak peak of some brand new unreleased stuff as well! Have to come out and see for yourself!” On July 19, 2011, Tribal Seeds gave listeners a brand new EP entitled “Soundwaves,” which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Reggae Charts. Their previous efforts, their debut, self titled album, “Tribal Seeds” was released in 2008, and their second album “The Harvest” was released in June of 2009. iTunes named both albums the “Best Of” in the Reggae genre, for their respected years. Their debut album helped garner them the “Best World Music” title at the San Diego Music Awards in 2008, and “The Harvest,” which contained fourteen new and original songs, debuted at the number 5 spot on the Billboard Reggae Charts.

Hello friends!

As a contestant in the "First Coast Star 2011 Talent Competition", I made it to the second round and will be performing again this Sunday, April 3 around 12:00PM at the Jacksonville Landing. The stage is located in the center of the rotund right on the river front in beautiful downtown Jacksonville, Florida. If you happen to be near I sure could use the audience support, or if not... just the good vibes will do. There will be twenty contestants this time around, all with incredible talent to share.

Oh, and there's plenty to do at the Landing with retail shops, cafes, restaurants, and a few night clubs offering a cornicopia of delectible food and soothing libations on a warm spring day. I am thankful to participate with so many talented performers and hope to see you there!

Be good to yourself... and peace.

Special Music Video Revival Episodes on YourJax Music

By YourJax Music

In the upcoming weeks there will be two special episodes of YourJax Music featuring select music videos from the last Jacksonville Video Music Revival.  My friend and co-worker, Dave Hall, is busy sitting in the edit suite here at CW17 working on the episodes.  The JMVR is the brainchild of Jack Diablo, which many of you may know from EU Jacksonville, and Shane Douberly, of Drips Black, which is a top-notch, class-A production house right here in Jacksonville, Florida.  Both of these guys really live, love, and breathe the 904 and work to help promote and enrich the arts and culture of Jacksonville.

Our region is rich with talented artists, musicians, designers, animators, film makers...  you name it, and Jack and Shane are aware of this and started the JMVR to showcase music videos produced by local talent.  If  you love animation, you should also check out The Citrus Cel Animation Festival.  They will share more info on that plus the 2011 JMVR in the upcoming two episodes.

Big UP to The Letter Shop for letting us hang out and shoot Shane and Jack guest-hosting the episodes.  This is a cool shop with an electic mix of clothing, accessories and vinyl records.  Especially LOCAL brands such as Burro, Thread Wizard, Tact, Arturo, Faction Habit, GrannyMachine and much more.

We'll let you  know when the episodes will air.  Keep in touch with us on Facebook for updates.

Jacksonville Music Video Revival in 2011

The Jacksonville Music Video Revival is alive and well and looking for new material. In case you missed it the first two rounds have showcased both old and new videos of Jacksonville bands. The event is a great way to experience some of the very best that Jacksonville has to offer in both music and video production in a way that you won’t find anywhere else. It is also the perfect opportunity to show off your video skills or get some exposure for your band.

During the recent 2010 Jacksonville Film Festival, EU along with Stay Tuned Studios screened five of the best videos from both events and awarded L Gustavo Cooper the Emerging Director Award for his work on the Dark Horse Saloon video, ‘Strangers.’ Who knows, the next emerging director could be you!

The next round is right around the corner, scheduled for February 4th to be held once again at the 5 Points Theatre during First Fridays. Several filmmakers will be returning with all new material but we are always seeking new talent so get busy making those videos. The deadline for submissions will be January 15th and videos will be accepted in .mov format at The Letter Shop downtown at 228 E Forsyth, one block east of the Florida Theatre.

If you missed either of the first two events be sure to drop by the MOCA Jacksonville Theater during the first Art Walk of the year on January 5th. We’ll be screening all the videos we’ve received thus far so don’t miss your last chance to see original local music videos on the big screen. -

"The Atlanta audition for NBC's America's Got Talent Show"

By Jay Anthony Terry
The audition in Atlanta was a success for me!

After an arduous journey through the casting "Cattle Call" process it came down to myself and ten others standing on an X in a room facing judges. The experience was excruciating at times but none the less enlightening. My lovely wife/manager was the consumate publicist and it was amazing watching her do her PR stuff. Thank you all sooo very much for your kind words and encouragment. I'm the most fortunate man on this planet to have so many loving people in my life. I felt each and every one of you there with me.

FYI... the NBC people would not elaborate following the audition except to say that call backs for round #2 would not come until February 15, after the tapes are reviewed in Los Angeles. Whether or not I'm selected, my hearts soars with gratitude for the opportunity to perform along side so many talented performers... and I will follow up with future opportunities. Thanks again for staying tuned here at yourjaxmusic.com and on my facebook "Cafe Groove" & Jay A. Terry page.

Love and peace,
